Description
Chilli Paneer is a popular Indo-Chinese dish made with paneer cubes tossed in a spicy, tangy sauce with garlic, chilies, and bell peppers. Commonly served in dry or semi-gravy form, it is a staple in tiffin centers, fusion restaurants, and college cafés across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.
Paneer cubes are first marinated and lightly fried for a golden crust. These are then stir-fried over high heat with chopped onions, green chilies, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and chili sauce. Bell peppers and spring onions add crunch and color, while black pepper and vinegar create a balanced heat and acidity. The dry version is served as a starter, while the semi-gravy variant pairs well with noodles or fried rice.
Chilli Paneer is especially popular among vegetarian diners in Coimbatore, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, and continues to be a favorite Indo-Chinese appetizer in Mississauga, Brampton, and Scarborough.
