Description
Fish Pakora is a crispy, deep-fried Indian snack made with boneless fish pieces marinated in spices and coated in a seasoned gram flour batter. Found in both coastal South Indian cuisines and Punjabi-style North Indian menus, it is a popular evening snack or appetizer served with chutneys and lemon wedges.
The fish—often seer, tilapia, or kingfish—is marinated with turmeric, red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, and ajwain, then coated in a thick gram flour batter with rice flour and deep-fried until golden. Curry leaves, green chilies, or crushed pepper may be added for added heat and aroma.
Fish Pakora is widely served at tea shops and home kitchens in regions like Kochi, Mangalore, and Chennai, and continues to be a flavorful seafood snack for Indian families in Mississauga, Scarborough, and Brampton.
