Description
Vegetable Pakora is a popular Indian tea-time snack made by deep-frying mixed vegetables coated in a seasoned gram flour batter. Crispy on the outside and soft inside, pakoras are widely prepared in homes, street stalls, and small eateries across South India, especially during the monsoon and festive seasons.
Sliced vegetables like onions, potatoes, spinach, and carrots are mixed with besan (gram flour), rice flour, green chilies, curry leaves, and spices such as ajwain, turmeric, and crushed fennel. The batter is gently dropped into hot oil and fried until golden and crisp. They are often served hot with coconut chutney, mint chutney, or tomato sauce.
Vegetable Pakoras are a staple snack in cities like Coimbatore, Madurai, and Bengaluru, and remain a nostalgic and comforting item enjoyed with tea by Indian families in Mississauga, Brampton, and Scarborough.
